M Performance key case

I went to order the BMW Performance Key case (82292355519) at my dealer and they said it wouldn't fit my key. Online I see pictures for the PN with my key shown below. But there are other pictures with the older key. Both seem to have the same PN but shape of the cases is obviously different. Did BMW change the design or is there a mix up with part numbers going on here?

You want the top one which I have but I will need to find the part number

I gave the dealer that part number and they walked out with the one in the bottom one. Searching with the PN online I see both versions come up?

I suppose depends on the model you have, as top one fits M40i and D and is the one I have

Every G01 has the same shape key.

Keep the Allen Key handy, the screw regularly comes loose.

Fair enough, I didn’t want to make sweeping statement for range, only for the one I have. 👍
