Engine Whining - Engine Bay / Steering Column

After taking my car in for Vibration issues, (not sure if it relates) but these whining noises started, driving at different speeds and intermittent. I cannot reproduce in any way. When it actually happens i cannot make it to the dealer in time and I have tried different ways to evaluate. (slowing down/braking / turning steering wheel / a/c on and off) nothing seems to trigger it or make it go away. I goes on its own at its own will. Happens at all speeds and mostly when the steering is turned or i switch lanes.

After 2 visits they cannot reproduce this issues so they claim they cannot fix it. What am i supposed to do ?? keep driving it ?? Totally not going to sit around and wait till Lemon Law reqs. pass.

wanted to post in case anyone else has the issue and i resolve it somehow. Video is below.

Sorry I don't know, but it sounds to me like brakes rubbing. Like running your finger round a wine glass. How many miles has it done? Is there a lip on the discs that could be rubbing against the pads? Just spit-balling.

Sure it's not the HVAC system? Try front window defrost on high, and then move air around to feet, middle, etc.

brakes checked on last service, definitely feels much stronger at the wheel than the brake, def not from the A/C system (feels like it comes from the engine bay). It's triggered by steering wheel at a certain degree of left or right turn.

I think I have the same issue. I heard it from when my wife first got her M40i, but its so random its hard to reproduce.

I saw another post with a youtube video of it too at time stamp 2:18:
