Just used bimmercode and followed the instruction and answered yes to the test question on the display. It worked without problems.

I using bimmercode but it's not working. The car still didn't get the break in service do you think that may be causing the restrictions?

Dumb question maybe, but you do have the key inside the car when trying? The "video in motion" function seems to be a test function and is linked to one key. That is the question you answer "yes" to when enabling "vim"

It is linked to profile. Need key turn on car, but then can switch profiles and activate for each.

I have coded over 100 cars for VIM, and it has been working.
Both via E-Sys and Bimmercode.
You just need to follow the instruction that shows up on the Bimmercode App after coding the HU module.

With something you have to turn off carplay, sometimes coding work with ignition on, something with off.

Probably a silly question but here goes, I have some live music DVD's I enjoy, I do not need the video to be seen, just want to listen to the music that is on said DVD. These are DVD's that are not available on CD. So can I drive and just listen without doing anything or do I still need coding. TIA.

Video will play in car.
When you start driving, you will get overlay blocking video, but audio will continue.
Only if you want video while driving do you need coding.

Yes.
All you hear is music, videos will not be shown unless you are at a full stop.

Yes.

Coding also required if you want additional video codecs for USB videos.
