19" 225/35 pirelli run flats on m sport suspension vs same pirellis on regular tyre

Hi all, I've searched high and low for an answer on my specific setup with no luck, the searches always come up with X3 owners advice for some reason
My 320i G20 has 19" light alloys on stock msport suspension (not adaptive) on pirelli PZero 19/225/35 run flat tyres
I'm tired of the crashy ride and cannot retrofit the adaptive suspension so I'm thinking of swapping the tyres to the Same type but not runflats

Will it improve the ride quality considering that the wall is quite shallow at 35?

Thanks

There are a lot of factors but in general terms, yes changing to non-run flats will improve the ride quality since RFT have stiffer sidewalls. By the way, stiffer sidewall would normally make you think, much better handling. Not necessarily the case because you do want some flex for grip. Stay with a Premium brand and you will also likely be able to get a higher treadware rating which means the non RFTs will last longer. Every car i have ever purchased, RFTs go first.

Thank you pkancel, is there a general rule of thumb as to how much I should expect the ride to improve in a rough percentage? I'm concouis that the slim profile of '35' will limit how much flexibility the tyres will have nad therefore might not be worth the investment

No general rule, seat of pants. Are you staggered or squared, meaning 225-35 all around or just fronts. If you are squared, then consider a 235/35/19, gives a little more sidewall. Use this to help you, type in your size, type in the size I mentioned and you can see all of the details. Slightly taller sidewall, slighly more overall diameter but still shows green, tolerance level(Diameter Variance) https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

What about going with 18" wheels?
Maybe swoop your 19" set with someone that has a 18" set up and want 19".

Great idea Remmib and I got that set for him. Mine are the Bridgestone Turanza, Non-RFT 225-45-18, squared set up and I would happily trade for the 19s. I dont have the road issues in So Cal so whether 19s or 20s, we dont necessarily have to the same ride concerns.

Ive been spoilt with how good the 19's look now + I don't think I could stomach the move to 18"s before I try switching to NON RFTs 😂

So I'm definitely going for non RFTs
Current setup is 225/35 front and rear
Front load is 93Y and back is 96Y, all non RFTs out there seem to be 88Y
Is there anyone in the UK who found non RFTs with the right load?
Websites I've been checking are tyre wise, kwik fit, black circles

Agreed, its one thing to start at 18 but to start at 19 and go down to 18, they will look odd.

My bad it's not a squared setup
Front 225/40/19 RFT pirelli p zero 93Y
Back 255/35/19 RFT pirelli p zero 96Y
Going to switch to pirelli go flats
What's the difference between p zeros, p zero rossi, p zero PZ4? Any comfort differences?
