Should I get 1 year extended warranty on a barely used X3 from the dealership?
Hey guys!
So I'm taking ownership of a 2019 X3 xDrive30i next Thuesday. The car isn't brand new. It has 10k miles on it and has been in use since September 2018. I barely drive 8k miles per year so millage won't matter and the warranty will expire in a little more than 3 years (Septembre 2022) which is how long I intend to keep the car since I don't want to own the car out of the warranty. When finalizing the paper I was offered to extend the warranty on the car. For 1,500$ I could add an extra year to the warranty. Mind you, the car will barely have 34k miles at the end of the normal warranty so I wouldn't have to add miles. Do you think its worth it? It could allow me to keep the car an extra year or if I sell regarless, I guess It's going to be worth more with 1 year of warranty to go? Also, do you think this is negociable? I mean, since the car will only be at 34k miles at the beginning of the extended warranty, the expected cost should be lower. Or could I simply buy this extended warranty at the end of the normal one? |

Check Carchex, I have used them in the past and have been very happy. It may be a bit more, but it would be for longer term.
