Question Forgets Cell Phone Pairing

My X5 keeps 'forgetting' one or the other of the two cell phones my wife and I use. All is well for a few days, then suddenly one phone won't connect, and when I look, it is not listed under KNOWN DEVICES. The 'unknown' phone connects to the WiFi hotspot, and is listed as connected to WiFi, but the car seems to forget the Bluetooth pairing.

Android, S8 and S9 phones, if that makes any difference...

Called BMW Genius and deleted/unpaired from the car and phone, re-booted iDrive, and re-paired the phones. Happens again eventually.

Software update checked, nothing to update.

Any suggestions, or anyone to commiserate with me? Genius suggested taking to dealer and get Bluetooth module checked/replaced. I think a nice software upgrade would do the trick, but again, if anyone has experienced this, and replaced the Bluetooth module to fix, I would love to hear it....

Danke!

Update

Update, it appears that the first phone paired stays paired, no issues. The second phone gets 'forgotten'

Yep, same issue here - 2020 X5.
Two iPhones. The 1st phone is fine. The 2nd one gets dropped from the list and needs to be re-paired every few days.
I wonder if it has to do with the phone being paired to 2 different BMW's.

Take it in and have dealer upgrade your iStep level. OTA remote upgrades are way behind and it's anyone's guess when BMW might push out another one.

Has anyone had any luck with a hardware or a firmware fix for this issue? My dealer claims that they have no additional firmware, other than what's available OTA.

Mine just started doing this as well. Just had all of the updates done a couple of weeks ago.
