MF button question with paddle swap e93

I'm picking up a non-paddle iDrive 2007 e93 which has the sport style wheel/airbag, but does not have paddles. I am looking to get paddles with the resistor mod.

My question is whether or not I will be able to use the MF buttons from my existing, non-paddle wheel or if I have to use them from the donor (paddled, non iDrive).

My existing buttons are as pictured below:

The buttons I'd be getting on the other wheel are slightly different

Essentially I don't have the CD button or the AC recirculate but have the diamond and star.

Will I have to swap out my existing buttons, and if so what functionality would I lose?

Thanks!

Bump.

I also went to the dealer yesterday and asked if there are paddle specific buttons. They indicated there are not. Will post with updates after I'm done.
