Really! Wonder why?

If true, I wonder what impact on values that will have on the ones already out here?

On probing looks like a commercial issue. They recommended getting the X3M instead lol

IF it's true, probably because the X3M will take it's place, I would imagine...

If true it would bode well for our cars as values would stabilise as the m40i is the sweet spot in the range. However no proof / announcement so would take it with a pinch of salt for now.

I've had it confirmed by three different geniuses on chat. It definitely looks like they are removing the m40i option to get people to make the jump to the X3M. Surprisingly, the m40d is still available though.

Prices for m40i's should stabilise for sure.

I've just been told the same for UK. Looks true.

Funny how M40d still available. That will start the debate about M40d being a lot better than M40i.......

Probably UK only, we don’t get the M550i here either, probably because they’d affect M5 sales.

Just ordered my 40i to collect at the end of the month. I'm quite happy in my 5 series touring. With this news do you think it's worth considering cancelling?

I ordered a new M40i today ... but from existing stock.

The M40i is not discontinued in the UK, it is undergoing a change thus not on the UK website.

There are a few changes, a new digital dash ... but unsure quite how much more 'digital' as doesn't appear to look like the new 3 series one ... HK is not in the same pack as 21" wheels and other tinkering.

The BMW dealer I was with read the changes but said they are not uploaded to the configurator yet - they only affect the M40i thus it is not available and the other models are.

I was more than happy to place an order for the 'older' new one in their showroom and can't wait for (hopefully) next Thursday ! Blue X40i with red/black interior and loads of juicy options

I think BMW made the decision to discontinue the 40i because it would end up competing with the X3M in the mind of buyers. The 40i is a great engine and there is not going to be any replacement here in the UK at least.

I believe the MY20 changes for the X3 have already been made on the configurator. All X3 M Sport trims will come with the Full Live Cockpit, as seen in the 3 series, X5 etc. Also in MY20, options such as rear sunblinds and display key have been removed.
