BMW X3 MY20 - New Factory Order Discount

Hi,

I've been offered 13% off the RRP of a new custom X3 MSport 20i order. Is this considered a good deal? Cash purchase.

Yes. If you go for PCP I think you will also get a further £1000-1500 finance contribution. You don't have to take up the PCP - i.e. cancel the finance within the cooling off period (14 days) and keep the contribution.

The acheivable discounts on BMW SUVs is 15-18%. Obviously inventory attracts the steepest discounts. 13% for a factory order is fine but as the previous poster mentioned, take the PCP offer and then settle it if you are cash buyer.

Thank you both for the advice. I'll do as you recommend!

SSBMW14 - Is 15-18% achievable on new factory orders without PCP or including it?

13% cash / 15-18% with PCP. You may get more off a stock vehicle. But 15-18% is not a bad discount given it is a custom order. I got 16% of mine including the finance contribution.

Sounds good! So I just take out PCP and then after the car is delivered (sometime in October), I just cancel the PCP within 14 days of delivery and pay back the loan? Or do I ask for a settlement?

Just call up the finance company and say you don't want / need the finance any more and want to settle. Make sure you do it within the cooling off period.

Within 14 days of signing the finance documents, which should be on the day you take delivery.

Yep I got similar, close to £7k discount plus decent trade in.
Dealer standard discount at the time was £3k but I just hung out for £7k telling him I was happy to walk away.

I just placed an order for a fully loaded m sport 20i. new factory order.

I got 14% discount and then a further £1,500 deposit contribution, so works out as 17% overall. In monetary terms this is £8,700 discount off RRP.

Hope this info helps anyone else trying to get the best deal

If you don't mind me asking did you order via an online broker E.g. carwow or direct from a BMW dealer. If the latter did you have to haggle

Just asking as I'm also looking and although I've seen discounts, they aren't quite as good, especially as yours is a petrol and not diesel

Thanks

For me, I started with Carwow and lease deals, and then took them to my dealer to beat

Mine's a diesel 2.0 Msport plus package with visibility pack, folding windows and heated wheel. Just stick to your guns and make it clear you are willing to walk away. I said that I was happy to wait and look at pre-registered offers in August.
Also, if one dealer won't play nice the try a different one, they each have their own sales targets at any given time.

The offers you get on carwow are never the dealers best offer. All of them are willing to improve upon them. A few won't move past 11%, but some are willing to offer 12-13% off, depending on their location and the model you choose. I then took the 13% offer to one of my local dealers and told them if they wanted my business i'd want 14% and they agreed.

Bear in mind that offers can even change month on month depending on contribution support and volume bonuses by BMW UK.

Secondly if you are ordering an MY2020 then the discount and GFV could be different because it has a £2,000 higher asking price.

Other than that, look nationwide for the best deal and even take it to your local dealer in person. They will price match if you are happy to sign there and then.

Doesn't sound very good to me. Admittedly I paid more deposit (£3k), but pay under £500 for M40i with M sport Plus Pack, Pano and folding mirrors

I'm getting 16.7% discount on carwow for an M40i. The discounts depend on dealers near your postcode, so set up a new account on carwow and use a postcode in south London and you should get the same deals back I received. Then get your dealer to match plus the commission a dealer would pay the broker

I started with CarWow and Lease deals, took them to my dealer, and got them beaten. I managed just over 18.5% - £56k list, down to £46.5k, but was a stock car in Group pre changes, but they were happy to do same price on factory order
