Shorter registration on rear of car....

So I replaced my registrations and risked a shorter one on the rear.
Think I will need to get use to it as it looks so different... but I kind of like it.

Aren't uk number plates supposed to support the BSAU 145d stamp on the bottom right hand side ?

correct, the number plate has to display "BS AU 145d" as well as the name and postcode of the supplier.

I got the smallest one possible for a 6 digit number plate and it looked too weird for me, so bought some 450mm ones instead which are a good middle ground:

I was totally oblivious when ordering that I had "show plates" selected. Since ordered the legal versions so thanks for the detective work guys

I have always bought mine from https://www.number1plates.com

They ask for docs but at least you know that they're legal.

I used to be a Subaru owner and knew a copper who ran a very modified STi back in 2008. He had a shortened private plate on the front for a... A1 ABC ...style plate, but he always had the full-sized plate on the back.

Not sure what UK law states now on sizing.
