Loud metallic CLANK
I was out on a spirited drive (6MT, MDM, Sport+, Sport steering) when I came to a stop sign and as I started to move again, I heard a very loud metallic CLANK. It sounded like a crowbar that fell on a concrete floor. The car did not jerk at all but I did feel a thump towards the rear. I looked behind me to see if I ran over something but there was nothing on the road. I've read threads about a "soda can crushing" sound from the diff but this was a bit alarming. I drove home with no re-occurrence and no other issues. I'm just curious if anyone has experienced this and possibly know what caused it to happen.

We get this a lot in both of our F80s. We were told it's a mix of the LSD, wheel slip, and the MDM/DSC kicking in all at once. It sounds so loud as a clank like you broke your differential and sent it through the ground straight through to the center of the earth.
This happens to us mostly when the tires are cold, or the surface is slippery (small water, gravel, rock).
