question on the trunk

I got my 2006 325xi (with premium and cold weather package) two weeks ago, but have not really examined every part of it. The manual says there are things like "tool box", "first aid kits", "emergence triangle" in the trunk, but the only thing I found in the trunk is the tool box. Is this normal for everybody here? Or should I contact dealer and ask for these things? Also I found that there is a small plastic cover (about 8 inch X 3 inch) in the left side of the trunk. I can easily take it out and see some metal parts underneath. What exactly is that? A place to hold CD changer? Thanks in advance.

Those things are available in other countries. We only get the tool box. You can ask your dealer for them, but they'll want your money to get them for you.

tumorim...congrats on your new e90. EU requires those three items to be in place in all cars i.e. tool kit, first aid box and emergency triangle...but US spec cars come only with the tool kit. FYI euro delivery cars come with all 3 items which are removed upon arrival back in the US. That's why you always hear ED guys remove the first aid kit and triangle before dropping off the cars at EH Harms...If you are intrested the items are about $25 bucks each on ebay or at your parts dept...

The small compartment to your left is where your CD changer would reside...if so equipped.

APparently the first aid kit gets removed because it contains "drugs".... tylenol, motrin, etc.
I got a 1st aid kit from Target for $15.00 that fits perfectly above the tool kit.

Congrats on the new car. you will LOVE it.

I got the first aid kit, toolbox and triangle standard in my car.
I haven't checked any of them out.

Not in addition but the mercurochrome is the reason that the kit may not be imported.

The triangle is not DOT approved so that also cannot be imported with the car.

I was just going to post this very question.
I did notice the evil Asterisk beside any reference to the medical kit in my manual.
One thing you guys coudl help me with though:
In my toolkit, it appears that I am missing something from the front left corner. The shape looks like I'm missing a spare wheel nut or something. Can anyone verify this so I can claim one from the dealer?
TIA.

In many countries in Europe, this is where the key for the lockable wheel nuts is stored. This is not standard in the US. You usually have to pay for a set of lockable nuts plus the key.

Mercurochrome is not FDA-approved? What was that red stuff my mommy put on my boo-boos when I was little?
