Anyone know how susceptible the b58 is to heat soak? I have the MPPSK + DINAN v2. Car feels very sharp first the first 5 minutes but after 10-15 minutes, just doesn't feel that quick.
Ordered a dragy to see. |

I have noticed the car pulling timing as IATs rise. However I only see this behavior after running the car hard and then sitting at a light or driving slowly. I'm on the stock intake which should be the least affected by heat soak compared to the open filter options.

first 5 minutes the car's cold. you shouldn't be pushing much, but to each their own.
depends on your climate, but here in socal, I've noticed some pretty bad heat soak in 80+ degree weather. but it's a fi car so...we're extra susceptible. |

I guess I need to run some more logs now that temps are warming up. My logs doing pulls in 60ish degree weather were beautiful. IATs would rise during the pull but drop almost immediately afterwards, so that's not the same as heat soak. Only if IATs stay high for extended times or warm up when you're not pushing the car hard would I worry about it.

Also the benefit we have is the stock radiator is already huge, and the radiator fans cool down IATs even when stopped. So it's more efficient than an air to air intercooler. |

We have 2 radiators. One for the engine, one for the air-to-water intercooler. The replacements that are on the market are for the intercooler radiator.

Your 60ft was awful which probably contributed to your poor ET and lower speed. If you can find a better surface or let some air out of your rear tires (if running non-runflats) you may fair a bit better.

I only really notice when doing a lot of stop/go driving when it's hotter out. The days that's it's 5-10 degrees about freezing are just stellar though! As the outside air gets hotter, you really notice the turbo lag in stop and go as IAT's climb.

Same here. When it's cold there is definitely more of a punch!
