I agree! But if I trade in I get a $2,000 sales tax savings!!!! Otherwise I'd be, literally, all over your car (and a nice drive home on The Dragon |

Actually our car is a hybrid so most of the trade in offers are as good as I was hoping to get by selling my car myself.
No hassle But it doesn't matter. The BMW dealer here made my wife cry yesterday, so we will NEVER, EVER, EVER own a BMW. I don't know about you, but someone making my wife cry makes me VERY angry. Maybe if we move and there's a BMW dealership that understands the meaning of "customer service." |

wow... i'm really sorry about that
i used to work for a car company (in corp marketing, not at the dealerships), and i do my best to avoid dealers at all costs the only reason i bought this bmw new was because it was from an old friend from college who was about to have a baby anyway... if you change your mind and want a bmw from someone who won't make your wife cry, I promise not to |

It's a long story, but apparently they really didn't want to sell us a car, just wanted to waste our time and now we refuse to give them any money, for service or otherwise.
We live in Dallas and we have three BMW dealers. They all have HORRIBLE reputations from both a service and sales perspective. It doesn't matter, I've got a friend that works at one of the Infiniti dealerships and we are getting a SMOKING deal on a G35, so it all works out. Plus my wife has had a G35 before and the service aspect is a known good (we had to sell her coupe when we had kids and now she really misses it). We are saving $14,000 compared to the BMW ($4,000 compared to the CPO 2007 we were going to buy) and the car has a ton more "cool" stuff in it. It gives me more money to buy tires and other race gear for my car, so I'm not going to complain. And the Infiniti dealers? Bending over backwards for us. Now they have a lot of inventory to move, but seriously the sales experience is light years ahead of Classic BMW. |

Autobahn was decent and actually offered an OK price, but they didn't have the car that we wanted (well they did, but it sold while I was still trying to work a better deal).
Since Classic is 10 minutes from our house and we had used the CA there for lots of test drives and learning about the cars I was willing to pay a bit more to buy a car there. Not $2000 more though. Maybe $500. Not a single dealer here would come ANYWHERE near the deals that people are reporting in other areas. Moritz graciously offered to discount their demo with 6000 miles on the clock $3,500 (still $500+ over invoice). A used (and likely abused) car for that much? There are lots of nicer cars selling for less on here. And I my wife finally came to her senses and realized that she wanted a stick again (after 3 years of an auto). So it works out well because either of the 335i's we were going to buy were auto. Anyway, I'm going to remove my subscription from the thread, so I likely won't respond anymore. |
