Who went to the Motorshow.......

Who went to the motorshow and thought it was shite?

At least I didn't pay the £200 entry fee or the £500 for burger and fries!!

Did spend too much time next to the Sunseeker boats on the water drinking far too much beer and laughing at the 'wannabes' in the clean room white slippers wandering £3m yachts. Some right chavs.

Thought Jag wasn't doing itself favours displaying most cars in a baby blue.

Vauxhall making all 20 of their Insignias look mean by putting on 20'' rims but no one could tell the price of them.

The New Citreon C5, Honda Accord and Mondeo all looked good when the manufacturers were launching spy pics of the cars with lowered suspension, big rims and low front spoilers/bumpers. Then you see them in the real light of day and they look as dull as the previous model.

It wasn't all crap. The Alfa AC in red metallic looked hot. The Brabus ML and C class looked good in Matt Black paint with Gloss Black rims.

Overall a good excuse to drink and not drive home. Shame the DLR service was slow getting me back to my hotel with a bladder full of £3.50 per pint Fosters piss water.

PS where the fook were the Germans???? They take the money from the so called 'treasure island' but are too tight to repay with some displays.

Sweeeet!!!

I'm too old, too fat and lost my mojo years ago so don't window shop too much these days.

PPS Why do most manufacturers display some awsome looking concept cars then hand them over to the engineers and bean counters and then churn out very disappointing interpretations.......

Had free tickets but didn't bother purely because I didn't think it would be a patch on Goodwood. Any pics Carrera?

How did you know?! Actually, that was the main reason to catch up with some old friends. Dinner was quite interesting afterwards - three guys, eleven girls

The show itself was quite boring

Bet there wasn't any botty kissing though.

From what I've heard the Germans are now concentrating on the Chinese/Russian markets.

That doesn't surprise me - China is now Rolls Royce's second largest market. Did you know the average age of the RR Phantom driver in mainland China is only 32 years old?!!! Outrageous!!!

Tell you what's even more scary... mainland Chinese are crossing over the border into Hong Kong, predominantly for a vacation, and to buy up property.

Typically, a 1500sqft three bedroom apartment halfway up the mountain on Hong Kong island (so basically one of the most desirable areas to live) with cost anything from £800,000 upwards. The higher the floor (they're all high-rise buildings) the more expensive, with those on the uppermost floors starting off at a minimum of £1million.

Now the mainland Chinese are coming over, looking at said properties, and are buying up these apartments. However, instead of saying "We'll have that one, how do we do a mortgage..?", they are saying "We'll take the whole floor, all six apartments. Do we wire the cash to you?"

well, unfortunately, concept cars are concepts for a reason...because they are often not economically feasible to build. the bean counters and engineers are the ones who find a way of making the car into something that the car company can actually sell for a profit...
