BMW aluminum pedals- worth it?
Do they help heel and toe shifting? Anything better out there at a reasonable cost? $85 for the factory set seems inexpensive. Looking at photos they don't seem to bring the brake and gas closer. Any help would be appreciated. Probably ordering this week!

I think that you should get aluminum pedals if you have aluminum trim. If you have wood it looks out of place. Im getting Al. pedals and dead pedal on my E92 with al. trim.

The Alumnium pedals would definitely go nice with any trim IMO because it can match with the chrome in the car.
I agree with 325 Baller about CA...

The pedals don't look bad with wood. It actually creates a nice contrast. I like the aluminum ones and they are much gripper. They are especially nice when your shoes are wet.

Installed the BMW aluminum pedals (without the dead pedal) 2 weeks ago, and they definitely compliment the alum. trim/black leather interior. They look a lot sportier than the basic rubber covers, too. As for heel-toe action, they don't enhance the technique as they're the same size as the covers they replace.
I'm thinking about getting the dead pedal, but it looks cool without it. I think I paid ~$65 + delivery, mail-order from Pacific BMW. One of the best mods for the money in my book. |

I ordered the car with them and really think they look nice. They go great with the aluminum trim. I also have the chrome E-brake on order to top it off. I don't think they do anything to improve driving though. They are purely for looks.

For the simple fact that I'm always carrying a laptop case, suit jacket and something else. To have to go rummaging for the darn key for my E46 when I know it's in my pocket...the CA is just an added bonus. Also, without CA when getting out of my car I have a set of keys in my hand that could scratch the paint. Plus the CA gives you the door handles that light up the door area when you approach the car. You'll easily get the $500 back if you go to resell the car for the WOW factor alone. Did I say I love CA....and so does my wife |
