BMW aluminum pedals- worth it?

Do they help heel and toe shifting? Anything better out there at a reasonable cost? $85 for the factory set seems inexpensive. Looking at photos they don't seem to bring the brake and gas closer. Any help would be appreciated. Probably ordering this week!

Comfort Access make sense?

Is this worth $500? What would you have instead? Car will be my wife's daily driver and our 1st BMW. Here's the list so far. Thanks for your help.

330i 6M, ZPP, ZSP, 655, 494, 322, SG with Beige and 4AC.

WHen i drive stick in the rain, with a rubber bottom shoe it always squeeks on the clutch.

I would get it just for that reason.

I think that you should get aluminum pedals if you have aluminum trim. If you have wood it looks out of place. Im getting Al. pedals and dead pedal on my E92 with al. trim.

Comfort Access was the first option members here 'forced' me to add to the build sheet. It seemed extravagant at the time, but now the car's about to be delivered I'm really glad I got every option I wanted. I think CA is a must-have for many people on this forum.

The Alumnium pedals would definitely go nice with any trim IMO because it can match with the chrome in the car.

I agree with 325 Baller about CA...

I would only consider them in warm climates. If you live in the snow belt I would think salt would make them look like hell in short order.

The pedals don't look bad with wood. It actually creates a nice contrast. I like the aluminum ones and they are much gripper. They are especially nice when your shoes are wet.

Installed the BMW aluminum pedals (without the dead pedal) 2 weeks ago, and they definitely compliment the alum. trim/black leather interior. They look a lot sportier than the basic rubber covers, too. As for heel-toe action, they don't enhance the technique as they're the same size as the covers they replace.

I'm thinking about getting the dead pedal, but it looks cool without it. I think I paid ~$65 + delivery, mail-order from Pacific BMW. One of the best mods for the money in my book.

I ordered the car with them and really think they look nice. They go great with the aluminum trim. I also have the chrome E-brake on order to top it off. I don't think they do anything to improve driving though. They are purely for looks.

I can't stress enough how glad I am to have ordered CA. My wife thought it was too extravagant but I went ahead and ordered it anyway (the car was for her).
For the simple fact that I'm always carrying a laptop case, suit jacket and something else. To have to go rummaging for the darn key for my E46 when I know it's in my pocket...the CA is just an added bonus.
Also, without CA when getting out of my car I have a set of keys in my hand that could scratch the paint.
Plus the CA gives you the door handles that light up the door area when you approach the car.
You'll easily get the $500 back if you go to resell the car for the WOW factor alone.
Did I say I love CA....and so does my wife
