spark plugs gap?
I bought a new set of spark plugs. I currently run jb4 map 3 with dp, intake and exhaust. I know these plugs are gapped at .028 from the manufacturer. Should I gap it to .022 for the mods that I have?

My understanding is it is a function of cylinder temperature/pressure, which is a function of boost. The bolt-ons only matter if you are running higher boost. I don't know what the exact boost needs to be to start needing smaller gaps, but somewhere around 18-20 psi I think. There are a couple of spark plug threads here.

For clarification, they're 1-step colder for our B58's.

FWIW...
Im running stock gap on the upgraded NGK Laser Iridium plugs. Car runs perfect on Bootmod3 Stage 1 with FBO. Wrestling with the idea of adjusting gap when I go stage 2 but not sure yet. Some report issues which has me iffy. |

I think the idea of bringing down the gap is more preventative of blow out. I'd recommend it. I too didn't notice much of a difference, but it's piece of mind for what...$150? |
