Side skirt extensions, yea or nay...

I have a front lip spoiler, gloss black. And I have the rear M performance (ebay knockoff) rear diffuser in CF. Considering the matte black skirt extensions. Anyone think this is too much? If not, leave them matte or paint them body color, which will either be expensive or a pain in the ass for me to do myself - I do have a can of spray paint in my body color and also a can of clear coat... thoughts? It's a 2019 540i M package in sapphire black for reference, thanks! and please please please don't tell me I need a carbon fiber front lip spoiler to match the rear and CF extensions, that would kill me

One man’s “too much” is another man’s “not enough” it’s entirely personal to you and what overall cosmetic goals you have for you car!

Agree with the above statement.

I was faced with the same decision as you 2 weeks ago... Because I prefer the OEM-style, I was thinking about buying the BMW Performance carbon fibre front spoiler and the optional BMW Performance side skirt extensions. During the black shopping week there was a discount of 10% and I couldn't resist in buying the parts any longer

I'm having these parts installed next week as a Christmas present for myself

Here are some pics of the side skirt extensions after I received them, wanted to see how they look like on the car. I had the side skirts painted in high gloss black so that they match the rest of the exterior.

If you've got the other bits, makes sense to "complete" the look so to speak and get the skirts as well (I do). The only gripe I have with the ones I installed on my '22 G30 is that they stick out just enough for them to catch on my boots when exiting the car. Same thing happens for rear passengers, especially kids. Just something to look out for.

If you go with OEM ///M Performance side skirts, I don't think it would be too much. I kind of use the rule of thumb that if BMW sells it, then it belongs on the car if you are so inclined.

Side skirts have been a consideration for me for a while. I just can't do a front lip though, so I have procrastinated on whether they would look out of place. I also hate the thought of drilling holes. If these could be installed with just tape, I think I would have pulled the trigger.
