Swapping out head unit/screen/touchpad

Hi all, I have a 2012 328i with the standard 6.5inch screen/HU/ satnav/Bluetooth/combox (I think)

Is it possible to take from a 2015 328GT the 8.8inch screen/HU/touch controller and transplant into my car? Do I need to take the wires as well?

Would it be plug and play?

yes it is possible to swap them.
