Performance Center Delivery 4/5
Great experience from top to bottom. Ordered from my dealer 1/19, delivery 4/5 at Performance center in SC.
Arrived a bit early the day before delivery so we took an Uber and explored downtown Greenville. Great town. Marriott hospitality was great- everyone went the extra mile for us. Picked up at the airport (GSP) in a new X5. Nice dinner and breakfast next morning. We were welcomed at the Performance center at 8am. 20 min PowerPoint talk on DSC, braking, etc then right on the track. My test car was a SG M5 with carbon roof and ceramic brakes. Started on the skid pad in a new 330i RWD for the DSC off then on test. Great spin out without DSC! 2nd was the braking test. My first time braking with ceramics - wow they are strong! My car has the regular brakes but the ceramics are rediculous! Probably not necessary on the street - as everyone says. I was definitely stopping shorter than the X5 and X3 M40i I was paired with. 3rd was the track laps. Got faster on each successive lap. Then my instructor realized I was going faster than everyone else so gave me an extra couple laps and switched my settings to Sport plus for everything but steering (sport) and man, this thing was transformed! Not that sound, handling, etc weren't already awesome but with the sport plus settings the car came alive! Exhaust was popping/crackling on over-run. Barely any body roll. Feels like a much smaller car! Next we got hot laps in M3s. Since it was a rainy day, the whole track was soaked and there was a lot of drifting to be had! Just fantastic! Then car delivery! My delivery was with Justin, also an instructor there (and race car driver on the side). He said 3 of the instructors there can also do deliveries and when there's an M car to deliver, they typically do it. Very nice guy. The car of course, was beautiful in the delivery bay. They did a great job detailing it. Justin spent at least 1.5 hours with me, answering every question. Lunch with the instructors was the definition of warm hospitality. Next was X5 driving on the off-road course. Amazing was they can do! Then factory tour of the X3/X4 line. Wish I could see more! Zentrum museum was also cool! They had a Z8 and Z1. Also an i8 to sit in. Overall a great experience! I'd recommend everyone do this once if they can. Incomparable if you like BMWs (which of course you do if you're reading this).

That's my favorite color combo hands down. If I decide to jump into an F90 one day, that's how I'll spec it.
Congrats OP! Enjoy!
