Coolant level monitoring
Have 500 miles on the car and have checked the coolant level several times.
It wasn't much above the min when I brought it home. It is currently below the min level. Barely. We have a 2018 540 that has approx 12K miles and I've had to add coolant to get it above min twice. Has anyone received a low coolant warning on the S55 or noticed a drop in level? |

There are 2 coolant reservoirs just FYI. One for the engine and one for the intercooler. When I took delivery of the car, my intercooler coolant level was at the max level but my engine coolant was slightly above the min level. I filled it up with oem BMW coolant and have been monitoring both coolant levels weekly for the past 3 months. After about 5000 miles and 2 track days, they are still at the max level, not even a slight bit of drop.

The level on that looks fine. It's a weird deal. Never had to add coolant to newerish car. I've had to add it twice on the 540. Hoping the M2C was shipped low and stays where it's at. |

My main coolant level was well below minimum after 2000 mile. I hadn't checked it from new.
Topped up and not dropped since then. Intercooler level is spot on max. Awkward to see, I use phone camera to take a picture in the reservoir, makes it easier to see. |
