I wanted to give my thoughts on the VMR V801s now that I've had them on my F30 335i for a few months.

The ride on the 20" BMW 361 with the Pirelli runlets was a bit rough and I chewed though those rear tires in 1 summer.

My F30 is a daily driver. So for my next wheel I wanted a mesh style wheel with the widest possible setup and a little more profile on the tires to improve the ride quality. I also wanted to try out non-runflat tires.

After weeks of research, comparison, and calling around I decided to give VMR a call to talk about the V801. I ended up working with a rep named Brandon W. who was super responsive and helpful. I blew up his email everyday for about a month with fitment questions and setup recommendations that I had surfaced for the F30 platform. He usually responded the same day no matter when I pinged him. He gave solid fitment advice and even pointed me to other purchasers rides as examples of his recommendations.

We finally put together the following package for my 2015 BMW 335i M Sport:

V801 in Anthracite Metallic

Front
19 x 8.5 ET35 5x120
Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 245/40/19

Rear
19 x 9.5 ET45 5x120
Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 275/35/19

The wheels shipped quickly with tires mounted, balanced and TPMS installed. The shipment came via FedEx on the day that was promised and I was able to plan work around their arrival. I received two giant boxes, one with the fronts and another with the rears. The wheels were nicely packaged individually with shrink wrap, and cardboard in between each wheel to prevent damage. I mounted them to my car as soon as I got them in the garage and unwrapped them. Within 30 minutes (original wheels has siezed) my F30 was sitting on V801s looking exactly how I envisioned.

Finished in Anthracite Metallic the wheels look great at night and in the light. The finish is flawless even after a few months of salt and snow on the highway in Michigan. There were a couple of days where I could have used a winter tread, but otherwise the Continental tires were a great recommendation from Brandon and did very well in the snow.

Ride quality is greatly improved over the low profile 20" setup. My interior is quiet and markedly less rattly. Since upgrading to the V801, I've added an ER Competition Intercooler, ER High Flow Catted Down Pipe, ER TIC and Charge Pipe, performance intake, and flared the DME with bootmod3 stage 2. The wider tires have handled the additional ~100+ HP with no problem.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase, very happy with Brandon's customer service, and I would recommend him and VMR Wheels to anyone looking for a set for their Bimmer. Here's a few pics and be sure to follow my car on IG @M3Beats

Car looks great. I'm contemplating getting these or some 437 reps but I think after seeing this I might go with the 801's. How much was the set up if you don't mind me asking?

Front lip was fine in the snow. I drove the wheels and tires daily last winter. I would advise anyone planning to install a lip to think of them as consumable parts.

You will scrape them, they will crack. It's not a matter of if, but when.

There are things you can do to prolong the life of them, but most will wear out over time.

My 2 cents.

And if your curious, my car is on stock M sport suspension. It looks a lot lower than it actually is, but is maybe 1/2" to an 1" lower than the base suspension. That's about as low as I'd want to be driving around the crappy Detroit metro area roads.

Total package came in just under $3k.
