Harmon Kardon EQ Settings

So the only disappointing this about my M5 is the HK. Sound is pretty average. Stock Stereo in previous 550 was 100% better than this.

Please share any EQ settings that you've adjusted to get better sound out of the HK.

Are you lacking bass?

I find the culprit is the 200Hz pushing too much bass and overwhelming the smaller speakers all around.

I don't have my settings at the moment but I almost max out 100Hz (+7, +8), cut down to -5 -6 on the 200Hz and boost a little the following frequency to compensate a little for the huge cut of 200Hz. The rest is to taste.

I then boost or cut the main bass and treble settings depending on what's playing.

Fader is also at -2.

A little bassy standing still but okay at highway speed.

It will never be a fantastic sound but it kinda works with these settings.

Thanks, I'll play around with those suggestions. Agreed the Bass can be strong and drown everything else out.

There is a frequency limitation that stock speaker can produce.
My local customers and even I, upgraded the HK to BavSound and it is much improvement.
It does have a good amp, but the speakers that BMW use is not much better than the no HK.

I turned off the Logic 7 and it makes all the difference, sounds so much better with that off.
