Thanks, only $45 each for the tips, but $230 to install.
They put 2 1/2" extensions in and had to drop system to weld all around both ends.
I'm happy, looks good and as solid as stock set up.

Oh yeah...dont forget it's only Canadian $$ (just kidding I think US/Cdn is about the same right now).
But they spent a few hours of labour droping, tacking, checking alignment etc..and it was actually an independant VW specialist shop recommended to me.

+1. Usually tips run about $100-150 installed. A good shop will be able to weld around the tips without dropping the system. They look great though!

Why weld a tip? Any sound different? Why not save money and get a whole new system?

Can only weld those tips, No sound diff only cosmetic...Like the stock sound, growls when you nail it & quiet at cruise.
Just did'nt like 3" tips in 4" holes, also like angle cut & rolled edge.
Personal choice...there's lots out there.

DUDE!!!! $230 to install!!??

I got my Magnaflow tips for $26 and some change per each and free shipping from ebay. Installed for $50 at my local muffler shop. Damn dude, Could've gotten than done cheaper! That is literally less than half of what you paid, just for the install. Mine sounds great, no leaks, zero problems.

Dont know if I could have got the tips much cheaper...to Canada, duty etc.
Your right, I could have shopped around for cheaper labour, first stop was actually "Speedy Muffler" (chain) and the boss showed me his Olds Alero with a "custom" dual setup (kinda scared me a bit)...nasty, crooked tips, he was actually quite proud of it?

Give the guy a break about what it cost him. He paid what he paid and he's happy with the result. I think it looks great.

That's a weld specialist? Sure they weren't special ed? Because that is one hell of a crappy weld.

But I do like the tips.
