Best Exhaust for M5Comp

M Performance Titanium exhaust is $5795.00. Anybody researched best exhaust (M Performance, Eisenmann, Dinan, Akropovic, etc) for the sound and price? Not sure a give a shit about paying $$$ for titanium exhaust in a 4000lb car but maybe. Thanks for any input.

Personally I would go with Remus. Best bang for the buck from everything that I've seen out.

Exhaust sounds are so subjective and videos really never capture the real aural effect. I have personally had no issues with my Remus and really enjoy the duality of the tones where its deep and throaty down low but opens up to a more exotic tone at higher rpms. And I agree, Ti is not going to be meaningful in regards to weight reduction that you would notice. Bang for the buck this is the piece IMHO... the quality is strong too. I run Remus also on my V10 R8 and thats an ear popper!!! That is my car in the video below btw.

Sound on!!

Have to admit, that sounds sweet.

I wonder if I can do anything to the M5C Sport exhaust to make it louder, like change out the resonator? It sounds good in Sport and Sport Plus but on Efficient it sounds way too tame. I have a feeling the valve is closing on Efficient and I doubt theres a way to change that.

You could change or remove the resonator. I have a friend who did it on his and the car is pretty damn loud thru the rpm ranges. You will definitely gain more feedback in regards to pops and burbles in coast downs and throttle blips even in efficient mode. This would be the most simple and cheap way to test and see if its enough for you. A good shop can do it for 250-300 bucks (x pipe or straight).

Remus full CB retails for around 4k (little more with the Carbon tips) but you can get the pricing down well under that with some of the board sponsors here Ill bet.

I went with an iPE system and I'm very happy; well priced, good build quality, great tone and valve control.

As Vic said, exhaust tone is subjective so go w/ whatever works for you. HP gains and weight savings are not impactful so really boils down to what you like sound-wise.

Just a quick heads up, the MPE is not a full titanium exhaust. It's stainless steel with titanium in certain areas from my understanding.

How would the Akrapovic compare to the M Perf Exhaust? Anyone cross shopped those?

I personally am over spending big bucks on an exhaust unless it's on an exotic. How good is the Dinan axle-back setup?

Remus is a very popular set up on this platform, another route people are going is Secondary Cat Removal with the lower Downpipe. This may be the most cost effective route if you're not trying to spend over $2500 for some sound:

Lower Downpipe only:

Take the Resonator out, trust me it makes an awesome Difference. My buddies Non Comp, he took his Res out and replaced with Straight pipes, and his pops while a little less consistent, were louder in some cases then my our other friends M5 Comp. The comp now has MPE and the Res delete is still almost just as loud. not an X pipe, two straight pipes, heard the X its not as loud

Akra sounds unreal. The titanium gives it a really unique sound!
