F30 Angel Eye Issue (OEM Headlight) Calling Any Gurus
Hello Guys,
This is my first post and really just wanted to check with the forum. My car came from the shop recently, because the angel eyes on the passenger side didn't lit up (as well as the headlight). So I bought these parts to replace as directed by the shop. *61-35-8-733-499 Control Unit Front Electron 613020 *61-14-9-259-466 Fuse & Relay Box *63-11-7-398-766 Control Module *63117316147 Module for headlight After the ordeal, the headlight works and the angel eye, lights up.... but... 1) The passenger angel eye stays lit after I turn off the car for at least 2 minutes. 2) If I unlock the car the angel eye lights up, and goes thru the same 2 minutes again if I close the doors back. 3) If I turn DRL off from inside the car, the passenger angel eye will not turn off. Has any of you gone thru this? Pictures attached. Any help or suggestion is appreciated. |

OP, I have good and bad news for you. Something very similar happened to my car 2 weeks ago. I got an adaptive headlight malfunction and, while the passenger side headlight and angel eye did work, it was behaving exactly as you described in points 1, 2 and 3. I took it to one indy shop who said the control module needs to be replaced (that part is frickin 600 bucks + labor). After some testing, turns out that was not the issue. I took it to another shop who found that a wire in the wiring harness going from the right control module to the headlight was chafed and cut. They simply repaired that wire and what do you know, the issue was fixed!
So...the good news is that it could simply be a break in the wiring harness and nothing more. The bad news is that all those expensive parts you ordered and replaced might have been unnecessary.

Thanks for the reply.
The thing is. I don't have error codes on the dash , should I have? When you say right control module. Is Right as in passenger side? Any idea on the wire color? ✌ Last edited by ricar27; 03-14-2019 at 12:08 PM.. |

Yes, passenger side. No idea whatsoever on the specifics of the wire. The shop did say that it took them some time to dig in and find it.
