Installed a BMS intake and Active 8 piggy back tune and recorded the below time via M Laptimer.

This was in Sport+ and Sport transmission setting (AT).

Seeing as stock setups have recorded mid 4's and I was posting same on the lap-timer prior to the tune, I believe it's fairly close.

If a 340 is running 3.9 on a stage 1 piggyback and intake the difference between the b58 and n55 is more than I thought. That time is really fast.

+1 on the stock 0-60 for reference.

OP is XDRIVE which will help the 0-60 significantly. The B58 is a marvel of an engine, no doubt.

A friend posted his friend's 335i xDrive FBO do 0-60 in 4.0 in Toronto area with m laptimer too. For sure B58 is more powerful than N55 but you can get it close with additional mods.

That 0-60 is on par with M3 requiring very little mods to achieve. I did realize how much quicker the 340i was and based on the Motortrend article below I was under the impression there was little performance gain:

Motortrend: Unfortunately, the 340i is no faster than the old 335i. In fact, our 340i was slower to 60 mph than F30-chassis 335i sedans and coupes we've tested, and it tied the 435i convertible to 60 mph. At 5.1 seconds to 60, it's no slouch, but the 340i trails the original 2012 335i's 4.9-second run. It finally catches up at the quarter-mile mark, though, with a run of 13.6 seconds at 105.3 mph.

Good to see real life examples that prove otherwise. I’m impressed!

Well we would need a M3 timed on m laptimer at about the same altitude to compare apples to apples.
*UPDATE* found this on the F80 forum, F80 MY16 stock MT:

This is a interesting comparison tool: https://www.0-60specs.com/car-compar...2=154&car3=165

I read that article too but keep in mind that MT tested a 340i RWD (first handicap for 0-60) and it was manual (second handicap).

Power and torque are not the biggest hurtle when it comes to the F80. Traction is. It's of little surprise that a modded 340i X Drive can achieve sub 4 times. Traction traction traction.

I understand traction issues coming from a RWD myself. My surprise was simply seeing a sub 4 second 0-60 run with very minimal mods is all. Nice work OP.

At mid-RPM band and lower, the modded 340 has about the same HP/TQ as the M3. After the mid band, the B58 starts to roll off power so the M3 will take it on the high end.

With the Active 8, it's got a really aggressive torque hump at the bottom end, couple that with AWD and it would naturally be faster than a M3 on the 0-60. In a longer race, the M3 would be king though.

Awesome numbers OP....

Not to hijack, but you had me curious so I did a run in my RWD 2018 340, no mods.

Nice run. I guess that makes my numbers fairly believable. Did you spin the rears at all?

No tire spin. I do not consider it a mod but I replaced the run flats with Pilot Sport AS3+ which grip great. The run flats I replaced were constantly breaking grip, even in comfort. I am interested in the tune you have, which is why the thread caught my eye. I take it you are happy with it? I believe you have your stock exhaust? I want a tune, but I do not want a overly loud exhaust, so I am hesitant on the MPPSK.

I would recommend the active 8. It's a piggy back tune, takes 30mins to install and it's arguably the most aggressive piggy back on the market. It really changes the car. Pretty sure there's still one for sale in the classified for around $400. I also added a BMS intake. Makes a nice turbo noise when coupled with the tune.
