Hi all,

Newb here just looking for some advice.

I'm going to do my final inspections and pick up a 2013 P30 320D XDrive later this week. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with things I should look for / ask?

Its done 60k, has a full BMW service history, transfer unit replaced (I noticed juddering while accelerating during test drive) and new tires.

It'll come with a 1 year BMW warranty as well.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Joe

Transfer case for the diesels is your main concern, but looks like that was taken care of, i'd just make sure it has a clean service history, maybe get a PPI.

Some other weak points are the nox sensors, SCR system sometimes has problems, and high pressure fuel pumps, but not really anything to worry about if you maintain it.

Thank you. I'm glad I picked up the issue with the transfer box and its being sorted now - hopefully with an improved version of the box!

Someone had noted in the diesel section of the forums that there did appear to be a part number change, but I can't confirm. The same thing happened to me except I noticed it after purchase, still covered under warranty though.

Glad it's taken care of and I hope you enjoy the vehicle, you can read up more if you scroll down to the n47/57 diesel thread

Your car appears to have Glacier Silver paint - correct? What a great color. Good luck!

In this picture, near perfection with 403M wheels is ready for a long drive. Again - congratulations!

check for any gasket oil leaks, BMW will say a small leak is normal, its not. valve cover, oil filter housing and oil pan gaskets all prone to start leaking at that mileage. I would do a 3rd party detailed inspection when the warranty is 2 months away from expiring. Unless you work on the car yourself like many of us. Reliability should be your top concern. The car looks awesome by the way.
