Recommendation for a quick, easy, reversible, cheap, COBB-esque tune for 2016 435i

Hi guys. I had a 2007 335 coupe about five years ago. I put a COBB tune on it and loved it. The COBB was cheap, easy to install, easy to uninstall, and simple enough for me to use.

My question is, what similar tunes are available for a 2016 435i? Bare in mind that I'm not very good at wrenching. Thanks in advance for your input.

Randy

I had MHD flash tune on my '14 335i, and will use it again on a '15 335i I'm getting.

It's easy and pretty popular...

Bootmod3 is a pretty simple and easy to use flash tuning platform. For a stock car, you can flash a stage 1 tune and forget about it, but still have the ability to flash stage 2 if you do some hardware upgrades. If you want something even simpler, Dinantronics Sport is a piggyback that just plugs into the TMAP sensor, and can be installed and uninstalled in about 10 seconds. It just ads a couple extra pounds of boost for some easy extra power.

BM3 or MHD will work, just be careful if you stay stock as charge pipe WILL eventually fail under under higher boost (even breaks at stocks boost) since it is made of plastic.

Thanks. I remember people being concerned about the charge pipe in the 335 with COBB. I will keep it in mind.

If your car is out of warranty, the correct answer is to go FBO (downpipe, chargepipe, intercooler) + BM3/MHD Stage 2 flash tune and call it a day.

If your car is on a warranty plan, then this question becomes more complex... otherwise it is very easy

For simple 5 minute install/removal I would look at the Dinantronics Sport Tuner OR JB+. Both are simple piggyback tunes that adds up to ~ 4psi.

MHD, BM3 and AA flash tunes aren't necessarily difficult to install/remove, however it does require you to connect another device (such as phone or laptop) to flash.

If you are planning to do more mods in future, then go flash tune so that you are "future proofing". If all you want is a simple bump in power, then the JB+ or Dinantronics Sport tuner would be good fits (but lets be honest ...... most of us on here have the mod bug and even if we tell ourselves "no more" or "that's it", somehow we always end up adding more mods )
