EGR recall
Just has a letter from BMW stating EGR on my F30 325d (2014) needs checking and possible replacement.
Is this a problem that affects on F30/31 diesels? |

Thank you DannyT331!
Car went in last week for EGR cooler recall. No problem reported with mine so all good. Talking to the service guy at Sytner BMW Solihull said that there is a huge shortage of spare parts on back order from Germany, for those requiring replacement. Some customer's cars have been waiting at the dealership since Christmas! |

Which is exactly why I've been sat on my recall letter since Christmas.

Get the motor to a dealership & have them diagnose the EGR cooler "regardless" of whether you have had a notice letter or not! I hadn't had a letter, my coolant went low & I insisted the dealership check the EGR cooler when it was in for service early Nov18; they diagnosed it as defective; replaced it early Dec18 free of charge! My car 2014 320D EffDyn was on 102k miles at the time & full dealer history! Get it checked & replaced! Also, make sure any communication is done via email, that way you have everything documented for evidence sake. Good luck & kind regards
