VTT Crankhub Fix
Just wanted to see if anyone has had this installed yet. Interested interested because I don't want to go through with drilling, I know there is a ton of unexpected labor but figured I'd take advantage and get turbos done too.
Input would be nice. |

I've looked into it. I think the hardest decision is going to be the crank hub vs capture bolt. The best guarantee is doing both, but if this continues at a significant rate of issues for the F8x platform, then I have a strong feeling that BMW might issue some other fix for it. That's why I am waiting to see if it's better to have BMW fix it or go aftermarket for a big $$$.
Without a doubt upgraded turbos is a big selling point for doing it, but I've found that 600 solid hp just by running full E85 on a stock setup is more than enough for the chassis. If you don't think so checkout F80 vs the world on youtube. I went from considering a full upgrade like you to just a capture bolt and bigger tires to run full E85. |

The SplineLock and Crank Bolt were designed to work together, installing one or the other will not put you in any safer territory.
