X3M Comp or used M5

based on the fact that I have seen some 2018 M5s listed in the mid $90s right now (that stickered at $120k or more) I am guessing this fall we will see some in the high $80K range.

considering the X3M Comp will be in the low $80s to maybe $85K, it makes an interesting cross shop since the price might only be a few thousand apart.

Similar weight, M5 crushes it with power, both have AWD and lots of room, can always get extended warranty on M5...

anyone else considering cross shopping these cars, or am I just nuts?

If you dont need the utility of the X3 and are considering it just to have a high powered M car, I'd personally just wait for the next gen M3. No reason to buy an M SUV unless you're using it for the utility it provides. That's just my opinion. Luckily I have the 1M to satisfy my needs, but am trying to convince the wife that the X3M is the right car for her so I can have fun with it too

yeah living in Chicago area the M3 is hard to drive on our roads, M5 and SUV will have better ride based on reviews (reviews of M5 at least) and X3M I am thinking for less road rash messing up my paint.

AWD is a must and I am still considering holding my car until new M3 comes out with AWD (just getting extended warranty, 3.5 years old and I only have 19,000 miles on it. More than anything I just have that itch for a new car.

I am actually start flirting with used X6M right now, 2016 with 1-yr left in warranty might be the sweet spot. But in 2 years the X6M would be dated when the new chassis comes out.

Will see the X3M and X4M in person before I decide
