Dinan software 3 weeks out

Hey this might be already known, but I talked to my Dinan dealer today and he said that the Dinan exhaust system and Dinan software is coming out in 3 weeks. Can't wait to see the numbers on the software.... as for exhaust, I already bought Eisenmann.

The BMW ALMS M3 is rated at 485hp, So I seriously doubt we are going to get 500+ hp simply with a tune

My guess is that it will be 20-25hp gain.... with software only... and maybe 35-40hp gain with software, intake, exhaust....

You must have heard about the stroker kit. There was a post on that here a few weeks ago.

The stroker kit will result in significant hp gain at a reeeally high price. The do it for the M5s. It's basically a rebuilt engine.

Little benefit? I thought they were supposed to be the best, price no object.

well they do have a large bill but they match BMW's warranty which is very impressive and worth it.

i called dinan a couple weeks ago and asked a rep directly from dinan about information regarding the software and he told me to only expect a small handful of HP gain...around 8-15hp. he said that there isn't a whole lot different they can do because of how high strung the engine already is. he even went as far as to tell me to save my money!

the dinan guy at my dealership told me TODAY that exhaust is 3 weeks out with ECU software to come later. just what i've heard......

Maybe I've just been drinking the Kool-Aid but I seem to remember that the less mod-oriented magazines (C&D, for example) really praised the fit, finish, quality of Dinan's previous "Signature" package applications. I know that their performance numbers (believe ~460 hp) on the E46 were nowhere what others did - like AA. But I think Dinan's point is to do all that they can to increase the car's performance without sacrificing reliability, drivability, etc. (I guess the only sacrifice is financial)

Dinan's warranty is worthless. I'd do it after the factory warranty expires.

Can you elaborate on why it's worthless?

Because Dinan will say it's not their fault and BMW will say it's Dinan's fault so you are stuck in limbo and SOL. I've heard too many issues with this to feel comfortable with what is essentally a 3rd party warranty.

Don't start this BS.

I know many people with Dinan cars. They get warranty work done with no troubles period.

This is the old E90post argument to put down Dinan.

The Dinan intake will add equal or more power than the GruppeM. And most likely cost about $1,000 less.

Ya that sounds like total e90 trash talk. They bitched about this all the time but never came up with any real problems with the warranty other than a friend of a friend once....
