Instrument cluster intermittent blank screen

Hi, new to the forum and new owner of an F31 325d. Iv had the vehicle three weeks now and I love it. But I have noticed the rectangular graphic info display On the bottom and to the right goes blank like it has lost power, but the speedo revs fuel and temp still work? It has happened three times now and drops out 3-4 times for 2-3 seconds and goes back to what it was showing before. Oddly in the same area of my commute home but never in the morning on the way to work.
Asked a bmw tech friend if he had come across it but said "no, but could be a software issue" so I did a software update and it still had the fault.
I would try and video the fault but it's has been intermittent and not the best idea to try and unlock my phone and get to my camera whilst driving. May have to set a camera up to record each journey until I capture the fault.
So I thought I would ask if anyone has had or heard of this issue before? I have googled and YouTubed the symptoms but none seem to match what I'm experiencing.

Thanks in advance.

Ok post been here a few days now so take it no one has heard or witnessed this fault/glitch before, will have to remove the instrument cluster and check all connections. try and set up a camera to replicate the fault, or leave it until it becomes a bigger issue. What I don't want to do is take it to a dealer or specialist and have to keep taking it back if they can't re-produce the fault or diagnose the fault, more so for the reason of cost. Iv worked in a dealership before and know how much time electrical diagnostics can take working with intermittent problems. Was just hoping someone else would have had this before
Anyways on a lighter note!
I will have to get some pictures posted up soon!

Try capture it on camera and put it through warranty. Are you under warranty?

Sounds an expensive fix. Do you have BMW specialists in your area?

More than likely I'm from Bedfordshire so there's quite a few garages dotted around. My gut says to let it develop! But it's my new car and it's annoying me haha. I'll just deal with it until I capture it or it gets worse. Someone clipped my wing mirror after a day of owning it and broke the indicator as well I'm hoping my luck with this car gets better as I have missed owning a bmw. Loved my e46 320d msport

Are you sure that it actually is a fault? You don’t always see that part of the display so it could be related to the auto lights and when they come on/off. It could be that due to the fact that the display thinks it’s night when it’s dark and changes the illumination of the section you are referring to.

Just a thought.

Ok so I have the problem again but this time it's flashing. Iv remover the cluster just two plugs at the back one for the electrical supply and another plug which looks to be a fibre optic plug. All connected ok but the harness does seem to sit on the adjustable Column I wonder whether they may have got damaged internally especially the optic cable? Can't seem to upload a video from my phone? To show you guys though

My car is in with BMW now for a intermittent HUD issue with it going blanket me it looks like wiring as you get a flicker before it goes of but they are advising its a hardware issue so likely still under warranty.
Had the software update but didn't help.
I know its a different issue but i believe all controlled through Idrive

I've had my main nav screen reset a few times on the way to work. Always at the same place bizarrely. Some sort of glitch I expect, related to the nav location perhaps... Maybe 5 times inv the year I've had it.

So turns out I did have a 3 month warranty with the vehicle so rung em up and it was close because the warranty ends on this Monday so glad I got it booked in guy at the garage said he's seen it before and will have to send the unit off for repair so must be a circuit board issue I presume. But yer glad it's getting sorted not sure how long I won't have the car for yet either so will see.
