Recent Trip Time Display

Does anyone know if it is possible to somehow show the elapsed time of the current/recent trip on either the instrument cluster or iDrive widget?

I can get it to show the miles traveled or average speed for recent trip in the instrument cluster and widget, but the only way I can see elapsed time is to go to the full iDrive screen for recent trip. (Btw, who cares about avg speed???)

Reason I ask is on my past Audi and even old VW, you could show elapsed time for your recent trip right in instrument cluster. It was useful to gauge how long commutes take.

I found the full iDrive screen with that info, but I'm wondering if it's possible to always show that either in the instrument cluster or iDrive widget. I'm able to make it show miles and avg speed for recent trip all the time, but not time in either of those locations.

I haven't done it since originally playing around with it when I got mine but I think one of the options when hitting the BC button will show the trip info. I didn't really play around with it so don't know if you have a choice of individual, last refuel, etc or if it is only one all of the time.

Thanks.. I tried that but it won't show the amount of time

I wish this fully digital instrument cluster were a bit more configurable. The possibilities are endless.

Have you tried setting up a memory button that points to the trip info screen? That may be a quicker way to get the info.

Yep, that works!

Just wish I could get it to display all the time. I know it's stupid but it's just something I got used to having for years in my old cars.

you can do that by setting up the induvidual option and resetting it or the daily one

Trip timer missing

Same issue here, can't believe my 2022 X5 does now have a way to track trip time. Not even any Android Auto apps that have a lap timer, trip timer or stopwatch. I even bought the Bimmercode module and app to access additional codes but .... no trip timer.

Has anyone else found a solution to this?

bmw Can we get a trip timer? :-)

go into CAR > Driving information > Trip Data. change the interval to “Start of trip”. you can now toggle the BC button to show current trip data on right side of the instrument cluster. mind you there’s no clock there, but the main Trip Data screen shows one on the lower left

Good tip, it showed me some options I hadn't seen. Mine was a little different, located at CAR > DRIVING INFORMATION > TRIP DATA. Not exactly what I wanted, but better. Thanks!
