Cooper Reading Dealer Feedback

Hi All,

Not sure if this is good etiquette or not, but for those that have used Cooper Reading BMW service department, do you have any feedback?

I bought my car from them and used their service department for the first time this week and things haven't gone that great thus far

Just curious if I got unlucky, or is this the norm?

Thanks

JJ

I wouldn’t use them for a variety of reasons, namely the balls up they made of repairing my last BMW & also the fact the are ridiculously expensive compared to another dealer 30 mins down the road.

If Cooper Reading were my only choice I’d use a specialist, can’t stand them.

I’ve had a variety of issues latest being it took two months to repair my i3 and generally mixed experience about the level of customer service unless you press management hard.

I was treated terribly when I was first looking for a car.
I was treated terribly when I had work done.
I was treated terribly when I needed extra work done.

I now refuse to go there and go to Hook BMW.

No way mate. My car came back with scratches on the bonnet. The bonnet was resprayed. The blamed a local fox. The respray wasn't perfect. I haven't been back since.

Avoid!

Their brand manager is a cunt. When I bought my E92. The windscreen was pitted. No response. I got trading standards involved. He left me a shouting voicemail about why he was being quoted the sale of goods act... You couldn't download in those days as you can now on an iPhone. I wish I had somehow managed to save it.

Show it to him, maybe the parent company will be interested to see what people think of Coopers, they sure as hell don’t care themselves.

You can also tell him that the sales manager is easy to bribe. A bottle of vsop cognac can get you some good will. I wish I had stolen the sales manual in cooper reading. It was laying in open view. Step by step guide on how to squeeze a customer and what to say if the customer is bargaining hard. Idiot proof instructions.

I will be mentioning it - think they are aware that they have some issues. I know that they are struggling with resourcing service functions currently - one of the problems he is working on....

I complained to Cooper Reading then complained to BMW UK who didnt seem shocked when I told them the offending garage.

iirc when I purchased my old E91 from Coopers in Colchester (who were absolutely brilliant btw) the parent company was inchcape who when I had VWs were the only dealership to be fair and decent at the time. As franchises the dealerships are only as good as the management and we all know if you have that the staff below work hard for them and there's a sense of pride. Same as any business really.

Ive had v good service from the parts manager there, for what it's worth, and from the tech who installed my MPPSK with whom I chatted before and after the process
No experience of new car sales or servicing though

yeah they have to get to the headunit to program the ECU apparently. odd as my remap was via obd!

I emailed the dealer and they simply didn't give a fuck.

the headunit looked like that and the plastic sheets were still in AFTER someone went to the car to check the car prior to handover.
