Anyone regret getting Marina Bay Blue?
Does anyone regret getting MBB, I am debating between Marina Bay or Donington and can't decide Sadly my local dealer has not not had one of either color to show me in real life so I'm merely going on photos and videos and it's driving me crazy. Please help. One is definitely younger /louder (harder to keep clean/swirls) and donington is more refined and conservative (easier to keep clean)

Have you ever seen it in real life? I agree it looks beautiful. In college I used to have a Corrado that color and I absolutely loved it. My last two M5 s were white and my wife wants me to get a new color but she wants me to also remain professional and she is concerned that the Marina Bay blue might be a little too wild with my clients. My biggest concern is that no dealers in Orlando have that color and I have not had the opportunity to see it in real life and it's hard to order a car without being able to see the color in real life at all and my two choices are Marina Bay blue and Donington Grey. Thank you for your response

I agree I just have not had the opportunity to see either color and was hoping somebody on the board has actually seen it with their own eyes rather than just a video or pictures

MBB is gorgeous and one could argue a little more edgy; DG is more subdued and really suits the F90 M5 well. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either despite the fact they're very different really just boils down to what you're looking for. Not sure where you're located but try to see if you can connect with other owners / dealerships so that you can see them in person.

What type of clients do you need to put in the car and how often? Any chance for the car to pay for itself to me makes the most sense if you have to use it for work.
If you are dealing with conservative types, the silver/gray would make you appear less the hooligan than you would in the blue with blacked out wheels. I own a company with 150 employees and dont give two shits what they think. I just try not to do burnouts every day when I leave. Sometimes I lose this battle. I have the Marina Bay Blue. |

Interestingly I'm contemplating the same colors, DG and MBB, I'm leaning towards MBB as it's just such a beautiful color. I have the same concern about clients, but most of mine see a M5 and think I charge too much regardless of the color. 😎😎😎

Ive had near the same color for ten plus years since Ive had the older 2006 M5 in blue called Interlagos Blue. The Marina Bay Blue is an electric blue. When clean, it glows. Even when its dark. Its like the blue variant of candy apple red. It seems to command attention from old and young alike. Its probably one of the richest darkest blues Ive seen.
Ive had people hang their body half outside their car while driving to give me a thumbs up, I have to assume because of the color. Or an old woman feel the need to say something to the effect of "wow thats really an electric blue". It seemed to imply somehow that I was looking for attention, which I thought was annoying to hear. Here in Chicago everyone drives a blah color, ie black, grey etc, however the M5 does look sharp in the Donington. It just doesnt stand out from the rear. From the front though, it looks like a beast in the grey. Everything about your situation tells me to go with the Donington Gray. Only the enthusiasts will know or appreciate it. Everyone else may just think its a nice car. The gray does suit it very well. I added a photo of the Donington M5 I saw the other day at the dealer. One screams attention, the other is more of a sleeper. Never have been tired of the blue. Its just a bitch to keep clean. You will have to clear bra the front and hood to keep it pristine. |

Saw MBB and DG in person at my local dealership. MBB looks raw but classy. I doubt it would draw any negative stigmas with your clients. Between the two I'd go for MBB since it's gorgeous and makes the car look more unique than DG in my opinion.

I posted this exact same question on this board a few weeks ago. Check out the responses there as well.
In the end, I am going to go with MBB depending on dealer availability. Currently have a mineral grey m3 and love the color but looking for a change |

MBB is an awesome color when clean, and I always get great compliments about the color. However, I am finding it impossible to keep clean and looking its best. Especially in winter with all the salt spray. Touchless car washes just don't cut it. I would have preferred Donnington with Expel Stealth PPF with gloss black or carbon grilles, gills, rear spoiler and diffuser.
