TMPS question

Will TPMS from a 2015 BMW M4 work on a 2018 M2?

Never mind. I reached out to Brian Keller at Sun Motors and this was his response:

18 m2- # 36106881890 -- 79.00 EA
15m4 , old # was 36106856209- changes to # 36106881890
So if you are swapping all 4 it should not be a problem
Thanks , I hope that helps.
Brian

So the M4 and M2 use the same TPMS.

You will get an error code with no TPMS. I like seeing which tire maybe low and what the tire pressure and tire temperatures are.

That is helpful, but I find the accuracy of the TPMS lacking. I always check my tire pressures with a tire guage.

I agree that the readings can be off by a few pounds. But it can tell you when you have a low tire. I find the TPMS gives me readings within one pound on all my tires. But it is still two pounds lower than my tire gage.

How do you know your tire gauge is correct? I guess you could ask how do we know the TPMS sensor is correct?

The answer is simply we do not know. BUT it does help to know the difference between each tire (assuming you are taking a measurement when cold as oppose after a spirited run). So if one tire is a few pounds off then you know you have an issue.

BTW .. I believe you can turn off the TPMS warning light via bimmercode

My tire gage has been calibrated.

I too find my TPMS off by approx 2 PSI from my tire gauge. As for tire temperature, no way I can tell how accurate it is.

FYI. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee a number of years back. The TPMS was dead accurate although it only showed PSI, no temp.

Yep, just found out mine is off by 1-2psi as well and I confirmed it with two different electronic gages

Does anyone know if tpms from a 2012 335i would work with the m2? I just got new wheels (titan7 ts5) and was hoping to use the sensors from my friends 335i
