Pandora keeps "loading" in CarPlay?

The title says it all. When I hit the Pandora CarPlay icon on the touchscreen it's switched to a blank screen that just says "loading". Pandora starts playing and I can select and control from my phone, but nothing ever "loads" onto the CarPlay screen.
Conversely, the Spotify icon does work as I would expect. Loads the screen and populates and is controllable.

Is this a known bug?

Pandora does the same for me. I have not had luck with any streaming music content via carplay. I switched the phone connection to the idrive and pandora and all streaming works fine that way.

Many music streaming services do not work well with CarPlay, I can't seem to also operate properly google play music.
What works is, if you open music app before getting into the car and than connect car play. It's more hassle than it's worth, but nothing you can do, looks like same problem with Honda's CarPlay as well.
On the G05, if I really want to when it's not working, I just restart the Idrive

i bought a 2019 chev colorado with carplay and it works great connected or with bluetooth so i know it can be done properly.

Is your hotspot trial not enabled yet? I had this problem when my hotspot was not working and the WiFi internet connection of the car was still turned on. Once disabled the streaming defaulted back to using my cell phone's data plan.

For CarPlay, leave the WiFi on and the internet connect box off. The WiFi is actually used to transmit high quality audio streams to the car hardware. Sounds weird, I know, but this is how they get away from using the USB wire now.

Keeping internet connection box unchecked will force the phone to route internet over its own cell service.

Let me know how that goes.

In the same screen as the WiFi. Press Com > jog all the way to the right over the mobile devices to settings > you'll see it in there.

Pandora and Spotify works fine but you have to open the app in your phone first.
