I am trying to code out TPMS on a 2008 M3 Coupe. I've coded TPMS out many times before without any issues but this car is confusing me a bit.

Disconnected white connector circled in the photo below.
Removed $2VB from VO
Added $265 for FTM
Default Coded: CAS, KOMBI, DSC, CAPPL

After that was completed, upon going into reverse the PDC would not work and it would say PDC Malfunction. I reset all coding to stock and it still said PDC Malfunction. I put the white connector back in and PDC started working instantly so it is not a coding issue. Am I disconnecting the correct plug? I know on LCI cars it is in behind the passenger side rear wheel liner but pre lci should be in the white box. I disconnected the other black connector in the back and that made PDC completely not work or communicate (ISTA showed PDC in red when I disconnected the black one).

Problem #2: I decided to see if the white connector was actually the tpms module as that connector looked exactly like the other ones I've pulled many times in the past. I figured removing FTM would make this diagnosis easier as if the white plug was actually TPMS module then the TPMS light would remove itself without having to reset FTM monitors and drive the car. I decided to delete $265 from VO because we were having trouble resetting FTM with the VO added, but FTM was still showing in the iDrive System even after removing the VO from the car. Why is this? If I remove the $265 VO then it should remove itself completely from the car.


The blue plug disconnected is the EDC plug, I coded out EDC and this is not interfering with anything as we plugged that back in, reset the coding for EDC and the problem was still there.

you are unplugging the wrong module, A85a is the one you need to unplug.

Indeed, that is the wrong plug. In particular, it is the PDC plug that you pulled out.

I don't have that connector. Look at my image attached I will list out the plugs here. The one in that link seems to be pointing to #5 on my photo but as I mentioned that's the PDC module

1: EDC Connector
2: Not sure but from my understand not tpms
3. Not sure, something to do with PDC
4. Not sure
5. PDC module (when this is disconnected PDC doesn't even show up, ISTA shows PDC as red).

should be located here, if not then it's in the passenger rear wheel well as have you mention

I wanted to ADD to this thread. On a 2011 BMW 328xi (LCI Sedan E90), I was able to help my cousin code out the TPMS. After various sessions of trying to make it work we simply removed it.
Below are the options I used using Bimmercode in Expert Mode (Headunit CIC & Instrument Cluster KOMBI)
