Bad lock actuators

I'm out of warranty on my 2014 F31.

Has anyone tried the cheaper door lock actuator in a non-alarm equipped car?

I still don't understand the enormous price difference for NOT having an alarm on the car. The difference, as best I can tell, is that the alarm version has the deadbolt feature in which a door locked with the remote cannot be manually opened if you broke or, reached through, the window. I'm fine with this functionality on my non-alarm equipped car... if they otherwise work.

The part numbers are 51217202146 ($49 or $66 for right and left purchased together!) for the alarm equipped car (at FCPeuro.com),

and 51217229458 ($215) for the non alarm version.

If I have to spend $430 on the actuators, just to get my locks working properly, I might as well retrofit the alarm for $180-$220 (per this forum) and buy the $66 two pack of actuators and come out ahead!

You can find a lot of different prices on the 51217202146 and the 51217229458. The best I found on the 458 was $45 on AliExpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Fron...866126823.html

Oddly enough RealOEM shows both of them for around $175.

Did you end up getting either of these? I'm in the exact same boat. Front right door actuator is broken and I'm having difficulty determining which of these two parts to get. I have the comfort access and alarm features.

What's weird is:
I got a quote from the dealership and the paper they gave me says part number 51217229458, but when I go to various websites (like fcpeuro) it's telling me the fitment for my car is the 51217202146.

My lock on my 2012 f30 335i has the alarm and comfort access as well. My driver's door lock is messed up and I'm in the same predicament as you. FCP site shows the 51217202146 as the part that fits mine. Which one did you end up using on yours?
