Radar

Inexpensive police radar, can anyone recommend one? The day after lowering my car I got my first ticket in St Pete, fortunately my lawyer got me out of getting a conviction/points. But WAZE is not enough.

(Mods - please move to: Navigation, iDrive, Audio, Video, Bluetooth, Phone, Cameras, Electronics)

I swear by the Valentine one, in the 10 years owning it I have to say that's its paid for itself many times over.

I've got a Uniden that's now on it's third car, never let me down. I doubt it cost me more than $50. This is probably more or less the current version:

Don't spend big bucks on units that claim super long range, they don't work any better in real world use.

Valentine 1. If not for budget get the Uniden R1. BUY THEM NEW. If you buy them used you don't know how they were treated (such as being dropped, left in the sun which messed up their calibration, etc)

Make friends with a cop or two, preferably state troopers, and they'll explain why long range detectors are a waste of money.
