M340i quarter mile time measured at 12.6s by Carwow

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Matt from Carwow compares the standing quarter mile to the M3 CS he tested as well as a 0-60 for those curious on how fast the new M340i is.

Skip to 17:25 for the M340i quarter mile run: https://youtu.be/Wy1lHtzz7ms?t=1045

Results:
12.6 second quarter mile
112.4 mph trap speed

Bimmerpost, edit the title, M340i did the quarter mile in 12.6 seconds against the 12.2 in the M3 CS.

Still very quick for not being the full M model. G80 M3 will no doubt be faster than the F80 M3 CS.

Yep. Numbers like these help put the price into perspective for all those people who think it is overpriced.

Would it be fair to say the Xdrive version could do it in the 12.2 Mark?

Cool thanks.
I didn't watch it with audio and I assumed BMW only had RWD available as prototypes (as I watched The Straight Pipes review it).

The Straight Pipes review had an AWD M340i and a RWD 330i. Like they were saying it's pretty cool how sideways the car lets you go even with the AWD system.

Reminds me how the M550 bested the older M5 numbers until the new one came out.

I was expecting for the 1/4 mile to be closer to the low 12s.

Don't get me wrong 12.6 in a non-M 3er is pretty fast but compared to the previous 340i it's a slight improvement. Edmunds rates the 340i xDrive at 12.7 @ 108.3 and personally I was able to get 12.63 @ 108.8 using launch control.

With a tune this will be a beast.

I am kinda disappointed. My M240i does the 1/4 mile in 12.6 at 111.7. Where is that extra 50 hp? I know the 340 is heavier but I expected closer to 12.3/4.

Yeah I watched it again, Yuri briefly talks about it being AWD... I memorized the end where they say they haven't driven the AWD yet right after mentioning the price of the M340i.
