Radio or Serious going in and out (Clipping) & Aibag Question
This just started happening today. When I turn the volume up the music starts clipping (Music turns on and off every half second). It's kind of like when your amp turns off so you don't blow out your speakers but I don't turn it up that loud. Then I realized that if I tap on the gas very quickly its happens also even on low volume.
Has this happened to anyone else? I have an appointment on wednesday for the check engine but dont think it's related. On Another Note, Is there any way to turn off the airbag light when your missing an airbag? My driver side seat is missing an airbag, the only one. It's annoying to see it up on the dash and you cant even tell by looking at my seat cause it's was professionally fixed. |

I have a question for you then. Do this also happen when you tap on the gas? I can sometimes hear some engine noise through the speakers and it gets a little louder when I hit the gas. Maybe a bad connection on the ground wire? I guess I'll find out soon, I just hope I get out of work early enough to make my appointment.

That specifically does not happen to me. It only cuts in and out sometimes after I first turn on the car. Maybe a separate issue. Keep us posted on the appt.

Alberto, I was browsing through service bulletins once (for another reason) and saw something that looks just like your situation. You may want to check out the Service Bulletin thread in the Maintenence section of the forums.
Either way, if your car's under warranty and you haven't messed w/ the electrical system, you'll be covered. |

--UPDATE--
O.K, so I got a call from my dealer and they said they CANT get the speakers to do what I was talking about. I asked if they drove the car around for awhile and turn it way up. They said they tried all that and the speaker/radio worked perfectly well.
The only thing I can do at this point is that if it starts happening again to bring it right in and show them. Even though my car is under warranty they told me it will take 4 hours to take everything apart and try to pin point the problem. They said it's too much work and it's easier to bring it in when the problem happens so they have an idea where to look. It is the stock radio and ive never messed with it but then again i am the second owner. To me it seems like a faulty "ground" cable but who knows. Im picking up my car this saturday and I know it will happen again so as soon as it does Im driving it right back that same day. I'll keep everyone posted on this. |

Yea, thats frustrating. Have not had to bring the bimmer in for any issues (yet?). But when I brought my A4 in, and told them what an issue was, they were like, "we cant duplicate the problem" And I was like ARRRGGG
