Winter tires for stock 19 wheels?

After reading all topics for winter wheels, i am still confused which winter tires i can get for my stock 19 inch wheels.
These are my current summer tires:

275/40/19 105Y
285/40/19 107Y

Most people discuss 705 wheels in square setup or 265 tires. I want to be able to keep the same wheels and just replace tires twice a year. Please share your experience if you have the same set up or know what options do i have without buying new wheels.

Thank you!

I would like to do the same thing, but with a great all season tire so I don’t have to do the switch. Can’t find anything available, though.

While it might not be exactly suggested by BMW, I went with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32 in 275/40R19. I bought these as a wheel and tire package from TireRack (so that I could just bolt on and off in my own garage), but you could buy just the tires and they'll fit great on the stock 19" rims. Identical size to your summer front tires, and super close to the rears, especially mounted on the stock rims.

The ride in the snow up here in NE has been really good. Traction, and they are noticeably softer ride than the P Zeros in freezing temperatures (which feel like hockey pucks).

The Blizzaks cost about $300 per tire and were in stock a few weeks ago when I bought mine.

2018 M5 Snow Tires

I've got 20" wheels and have some Pirelli Sottozero snow tires on the way and I'll have them mounted on the stock wheels. I just got rid of a 2015 M5 and am trying to sell Dunlop Winter Sports mounted on wheels too, which are 20" as well.
