New X3 M40i Order (UK)

Hi Guys,

Currently in a F06, looking for a change so originally jumped ship to Audi and ordered a new A7 55 TFSi but cancelled the order as Audi were unable to even give me a build date never mind a delivery estimate as the engine is impacted by the new emission rules.

Looked around and it looked as if the M40i was more than I was willing to pay but TRL (Tony Lewis) came up trumps with can only be described as an awesome deal. So the order is in for Jan delivery spec below:

G01 X3 M40i B58 3.0i
Sophisto Grey Xirallic
BMW Individual Tartufo/ Black Merino extended leather
Technology package
M Sport Plus package
22Z 21" Cerium Grey 718 M double-spoke
Steering wheel heating
Exterior Mirrors - folding with anti-dazzle
Seat heating, front and rear
Parking Assistant Plus
Apple CarPlay preparation

Cant wait

Same as me! I'm looking to pick mine up end of Jan as my MOT is due Feb 4th!

Congratulations. They are great all rounders!

Looks like most of the M40s in the UK have come from TRL!!!!

I have still to see one on the road. Cant believe mine is 1 year old in March! I still look forward to driving it every day!

Thanks, I've got to admit choosing the colour was the hardest bit as there is not really much choice.

I agree.
Ended up with Sophisto grey as well, in absence of Alpina green, or even better, British racing green.

Made the phonecall about VT yesterday. Docuements sent out, you sign, return recorded delivery. Within a week BCA will call you to offer dates within the next 2 weeks to collect.

You can do it all via email too. Payments stop as soon as they receive the paperwork back, whether via post or email, so if you're close to a payment date it is worth emailing them. If any payment is taken after that point, e.g. if you are very close to a payment date and it can't be cancelled in time, they automatically refund the payment.

Still a bit noisy on start up (for about 20-30 seconds), but not a lot of sound in Sport/Sport+ for me!!
Although others have said it gets a bit better as the miles go on???

That's a shame
I loved the pops and crackles of the 18 model
I'll have to wait till akrapovic develop something

Yup - gets better with miles but definitely worse fuel consumption and less pops and bangs than the MY18.
Shame.

Interesting you compare the fuel consumption between pre & post PPF.
Mine is a 19MY and I obviously didn't buy a M40i for economy, but I am disappointed so far ....

Unscientific but I'd say about 10% worse, roughly.

Definitely Remus, I believe Superspint, and no doubt there will be others.

I'm tempted to get a downpipe from a MY18 X3 M40i to ditch the petrol particulate filter and then see if a mapper can copy a map from a MY18 on to my MY19 car...
