G01 "activity key" wrist band?

G01 "activity key" wrist band - I thought I saw something about this being offered, has anyone seen one yet?

It'd be nice to go mountain biking without taking my actual key, but just a wristband instead.

It was originally shown in brochure but hasn't become available yet which is a shame, seemed a good idea

I had no idea there was talk of something like this. I was complaining the other day BMW doesn't have this option. Hopefully it can be bought and coded to the car.

I end up putting the key in a plastic bag when I drive to go running.

Info is thin on ground but here's a link to a international site, I don't think it is available yet though but maybe worth asking dealer

On the UK site you can but a Mont Blanc accessory kit for the activity key but not the key itself :

Hopefully this will release soon as I would get a lot of use out of it. My sister mentioned that this was an option for her 2019 Jag E-Pace.

YES- expecially if you get comfort access there should be an option for a smaller key.
LOVE this!

Great idea!!!!...and please BMW - make it stealthy and NOT tacky with some MASSIVE BMW sign (or at least make an option for both).

LINK - (scroll down and "register your interest") - who knows?.....https://www.pml-bmw.com.sg/en/topics...ivity-key.html

The BMW version doesn't look as good as the Jag's. But I'd take it. Even without the wrist band the key would easily fit in small pockets when working out. I hope something is released here in the states.

Given that BMW will probably charge $400-$500+ for something like this, and that it requires dealer time to program/pair, I don't see this as selling well (except maybe at car purchase/delivery time). While there is certainly demand here, I'm not sure there is enough demand overall (including the general public) for BMW to justify producing this. I imagine the beancounters are arguing over this, which is probably why we haven't seen this released.

if they can keep this at $199 or below - people will buy it.

While that does sound appealing, once you add in minimum dealer labor charges, the cost will almost double.

The Jag activity key is $200 and I think it comes pre-paired or something tied to your VIN from the dealer so I don't believe there are extra fees. Jag parts aren't cheap either so I'd hope BMW stays in line with that. For $200 I'd buy it in heartbeat.

BMW should integrate it with connected drive so we can use it with our smart watches, rather than having another wearable.

Yes that's coming with idrive 7 and maybe why they haven't developed the activity key after initial press releases

I’d buy one for $200. But I’d really like a key card like Tesla has. I hate carrying bulky keys and wallets and the BMW fob is already pushing it size wise. (Much prefer prior generations of BMW keys or those from Porsche.). Key card or phone only option would let me just leave the house with my phone and a license/credit card/keycard all in a slim wallet on the phone. I know some will hate that thought and tell me if I lose it I lose everything (which is true) but that would be my go to.

.......See? I'm truly a marketing genius. BMW should give me a $2,500 voucher just for that. Man, BMW should hire me. HEck, they should give me a 50% discount on my X3! Well golly...how about a discount for everyone on this thread!!!! ....Don't ever say I'm not generous folk

yup, the f pace I test drove prior to buying the x3 had the wrist band. salesman made sure to make that a known feature. it was actually very attractive in my mind, I'd buy one for my x3 in 2 seconds.
