Car Trolley Jack Work on X3?

I’ve never had an SUV before and I’ve just thought, does a normal car trolley jack go high enough to lift an X3?

Put a couple of trash wood pieces in between.
And don't forget to double check that it can take the weight.

So a normal car trolley jack won’t lift enough without some sort of extender? Do you know how high the jack needs to lift?

No to both questions.
But I would assume that the ride height is not that much higher than F30, and that suspension length is also just slightly more, so it could work with normal tools.
I have only changed tires on a high trailer, using extra blocks of things to put in between. Of course less weight, so no issues.

I guess you have to try, and find out the hard way. Don't forget to put extra stoppers behind the wheels on the floor.

I might have to swap myself on my G01 this weekend, if it is delivered as promised. Ice forecast for next week here...
If I do, I'll let you know.

Ok thanks, I was thinking about getting a new Jack anyway as mine takes about 100 pumps even to lift my 3 series!

I am thinking about getting this quick lift one that says it can do vans:

For £18 more, I'd go for the CTJ3000G, which has a an extra 55mm lift!

Thanks for the suggestion but that one isn't quick lift. This one looks good though, the pedal quickly lifts the jack pad up to the car!

I just visited machine mart and ended up buying the first Jack, the other two are 10KG heavier, seriously heavy lumps of steel!

Thats an impressive upgrade! Will make very light work!

You probably won't even need a "puck" for the jacking point!

That's what I'm hoping, it a bloody pain lining the puck up exactly with the jack point hole!

I have a “normal” one and it works just fine on my M40i. I used it to change wheels, no issues. I have jack pads (like a metal puck with the rectangular bit sticking up).
