Water trapped in lower windshield cowl

I’ve got a 2015 f36. I had a few seals/covers replaced at the dealer. The lower windshield cowl/cover was one of them. It holds water. Shouldn’t there be a drain hole in there?

I have noticed the same. Those are for RHD wipers and they do not have drain holes. See this:

I have not yet drilled mine but that is the plan.

It's funny how BMW put large draining slits (much more than a simple hole) on both the LH drive wiper motor locations, but the RH locations are left alone. I'll also consider drilling drain holes. Thanks for the link.

Yep I thought of drilling holes but wasn't sure if there was a reason why they were not there from the factory. Maybe it doesn't rain in Germany!!! lol

OP from that other thread. It's 2 years later and still happy about drilling those holes and no problems at all caused by doing it.

I've know people to have drilled without problems. Use a 1/32 drill bit. Very small hole dead center of puddle. If that works ok expand the hole size by 2x.

Glad someone brought this up. I feel like mine drains but I'm not sure where. Every time I wash the car soap piles up in that area unless i deliberately load it with water to rinse it out.

Glad I found this thread as I was intending to sooner or later ask the very same question! I just don't get why those water and dirt collectors are there, without any drainage!
