Washing the wheels is pointless.

25 minutes cleaning them, 20 mile round trip work commute.
Like I never cleaned them. But the stopping power is incredible.

Coat the wheels with a good polymer like Klasse or ceramic. That makes cleaning a lot easier.

Switch to a ceramic pad or other low dust pad; but recognize there could be a loss of braking ability.

Or just wash frequently. Pressure washer? Compromises.

in my experience doing a coating does not make a huge difference. low dust/carbon ceramic pads will make a difference. too bad there's not any on the market right now.

The ceramic coating does make the cleaning easier though.

We still can't get one brake pad alternative and yet I can pick from about 5 different exhausts, a couple tunes, and 3 lowering springs (numbers not accurate, I'm just frustrated).

As bad as the dust is; my Benzes are worse based on similar driving miles and braking habits. I guess the pad change is the most ideal.

I thought my steel brakes on my F80 were bad but the F90 steel brake pads are horrendous for producing brake dust. I have coated my wheels with Chemical Guys Wheel Guard and Sonax Spray and Seal. I have used several brake dust cleaners and the only one that works the best is Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus. I spray it on when the wheels are cold and use a pressure washer several minutes later. It removes 99% of the brake dust without scrubbing the wheels. However 20 miles later the wheels look horrible with brake dust.

Speaking of wheels/rims. I only like all Black wheels.

But the new M5s Competition Package Black wheels are of a high gloss, to the point where they look wet especially with the contrasting Frozen red paint which I like.

I think the paint job on the wheels look absolutely horrendous. It looks like someone just took black glossy spray paint and painted them. They should be of a Black Satin Powder Coat especially with what BMW is charging. Any wheels with a soft clear-coat are an absolute nightmare to clean because everything sticks to it due to the soft clear-coat that is applied.

Not to mention that because they're just painted and not harden Powder Coat they will chip easier.

Come on BMW M Division, everything on this car looks amazing besides the wheel finish. Don't chinch out!

I use Bilt Hamber Autowheel, amazing (non acidic) wheel cleaner, spray on, leave for 2 minutes and jet wash - nothing left. I have tried all kinds of other cleaners but this is the best.

Been pretty happy with Kamikaze Stance on the rims. Not perfect, but much better.

Good advice thanks! another issue is the rusty discs that crap all over the clean wheels, then the wet discs aren't happy either emitting an angry growl(crunch sound) when first engaged
